This time is fully occupied in experimenting and attending the various works that are being executed and would be unable in any way to fill his Storey's place. I would beg that you would lay before His Excellency The Acting Governor for his consideration the fact that his Storey is probably better acquainted with the class of work that is required here than any one else who might be appointed when the time of your departure is settled, and that in the event of my Storey leaving the Government Service, there might be difficulty in again obtaining his services when required.
